Food Group Events

Romsey Food Group (supported by ARC's Environmental Group)

There is an event on Saturday (6th March) 10 til 1 in the Court Room at the Romsey Town Hall. It will be a plastic-bag-free day, supported by Romsey Fair-trade Group and Transition Town Romsey. Do come along and help or just chat; it will be lovely to see lots of you there!

Woodley Funday 2010

Woodley Funday is now in its third year.

Bigger and more ambitious than before, this year's event will be on Saturday 26th June on Woodley Green, Romsey. The fun will begin around 2pm and go on until the evening. There will be fun and games as well as live music and a free barbecue!

Lent 2010

"Praying Through Life"

This year's Lent activity is based on the book " The Day Is Yours", by Ian Stackhouse.

The Day Is Yours is a protest against the culture of speed both in society at large but also, more ominously, in the church itself. Rooted in the monastic liturgy of the hours, The Day is Yours argues that in order for Christians to act as a truly prophetic witness, in a time of cultural decadence, they must recover a more biblical rhythm in which work, rest, relationships, worship, and prayer are held together in creative tension. Written by a pastor, the central thrust of The Day Is Yours is that living one day at a time with gratitude and contentedness is vital, lest the church capitulates to the distractedness of modern life.

The Hilfield Project

The ARC AGM was on 9th February at Romsey Methodist Church Hall.

The guest speaker was Sarah Hargreaves of the Hilfield Project, speaking on the work of the Hilfield Projct, also saying a few things about “Ecology & Christianity” along the way.
